Different By Design

How SafeWatch Is Different
Your Village Of Trusted Support
A different kind of support

There are many ways to get support. SafeWatch is different by design.

Australia has excellent mental health services, wellbeing tools, peer communities, carer services and digital treatment programs.

SafeWatch isn't designed to replace them.

SafeWatch helps strengthen the people around you, family, friends, carers, peers and other trusted supports, so wellbeing doesn't have to be navigated alone.

We call this your Village: the people who know you, the people who can help you, and the people who get you.

Because the people who know us well can sometimes notice when something has changed, and being connected can make it easier to support each other.
Understanding the landscape

Different approaches to supporting wellbeing

Different services are designed for different purposes. Rather than ranking them, here's a simple way to understand where different approaches tend to start.

Examples of support
SafeWatch
Your chosen Village
Trusted relationships, connection and mutual support around the individual
Wellbeing tools
The individual
Wellbeing activities, self-management, reflection and healthy habits

Support, education, counselling, respite and practical assistance
These approaches aren't mutually exclusive. A person may benefit from several of them at the same time. SafeWatch is designed to complement, rather than replace, professional and community services.

How SafeWatch Fits Alongside Other Australian Services

Australia has an extensive ecosystem supporting mental health and wellbeing.

Many of these organisations provide services that SafeWatch users may already use, and we believe that’s a good thing.

Some provide professional care. Some provide evidence-based self-help. Some build wellbeing skills. Some connect people with peers. Some specifically support carers.

SafeWatch starts somewhere different: with the people you choose to have around you.
